I felt triumphant and powerful over the elements because I found I could live with it.

I'm going to venture out into the weather more often. By holing up in the apartment just because it's cold outside, I feel like a weather-wuss.Mary Loishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01515655542270431289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2680602048847357735.post-71213095735658030152009-01-18T22:34:00.000-08:002009-01-18T22:34:00.000-08:00That description of a trek to the store seems a sa...That description of a trek to the store seems a saga of doom to me.
I suppose one of mine, in 106 degree, 98% humidity in god's country, may seem the same to Ho's, eh. Maybe having a nice piece read from your new book will make it better for both of us.
And, I agree, Sully is a man with
worth for his fellow men.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2680602048847357735.post-90998834994075413722009-01-17T02:59:00.000-08:002009-01-17T02:59:00.000-08:00I am awestruck by this event, and wish my apartmen...I am awestruck by this event, and wish my apartment had a view of the river! It was so wonderful hearing the news reports that all were safe. From the first minute, partly because I have a nephew who flies for the same airline, I wondered, "Who was the pilot???"

Now we all know and hold in our hearts the magnificent pilot and very special human being called Sully, and we are happy to be in the same country with him, or even in the same world. A beautiful event (that could have been tragic) to start America on a new phase of hope. No politics in this--I can imagine John McCain's pride in the man and the rescue--and no reason to think in those terms any more.

Good things happen. Let's hope it's an omen.

I don't leave for L.A. until Monday.Mary Loishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01515655542270431289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2680602048847357735.post-79498642623709809202009-01-17T02:53:00.000-08:002009-01-17T02:53:00.000-08:00JUST ANOTHER DAY in Hoboken ...SO IT SEEMED. But a day to remember...when a passenger jetliner would land in the Hudson River within view of Hoboken. A skilled pilot, picking the right spot to water-land his broken plane ...and how a quick rescue response saved all aboard...Hoboken has seen many events in the Hudson River throughout its history. THIS ONE TAKES FIRST PLACE...A HAPPY ENDING.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
